In week two of our "Formed" series, Pastor Blake attempts to answer the question: "What's wrong with us?" In week one, we talked about God's beautiful intention and design for us. All we have to do is be awake for 5 minutes before we realize that something has gone terribly wrong. We can feel it on the inside of us. We can see it all around us.
According to Pastor Blake, we are deformed because of two primary sources:
- We are deformed from the inside by our own sinful nature that's been passed down to us generation by generation from Adam to now.
- We are deformed from the outside by what the church mothers and fathers call "the three enemies of the soul": the world, the flesh, and the devil.
The reality is we have been deformed, but we don't have to stay that way. As you'll hear Pastor Blake say, "Deformation may be part of your story, but it doesn't have to be your destiny."
