“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing" (John 15:5).
In week 8 of "Come & See", Jesus is making the claim that He (and He alone) is The True Vine. As he walks to the cross with his disciples, Jesus is preparing them for his departure. He calls them to "abide" or "remain" in him, his love, and his words because he knew how easily they (and we) would simply forget and drift away from him. Following Jesus means keeping him at the forefront of our minds and the center of our lives that we may be filled with his power and bear supernatural fruit for his glory.
